Overview
Join us on an unforgettable expedition to the summit of Aconcagua, the highest mountain outside the Himalayas. This high-altitude adventure combines physical challenge, cultural & mountain clinical experience, and expert mountain leadership — ideal for medical providers looking to serve as medical support in an expedition setting.
We follow the Normal Route, a non-technical but demanding ascent requiring physical preparation, teamwork, and grit.
Itinerary Overview
- Day 1. Feb 12: Arrive Mendoza (750m). Course starts at 2 pm
- Day 2. Feb 13: Logistical day. Morning/classes. Late Drive las Cuevas or Vallecitos ( 3100)
- Day 3. Feb 14: Las Cuevas/Vallecitos rock practice/lectures/acclimatization hikes
- Day 4. Feb 15: Las Cuevas/Vallecitos Rock practice/lectures/acclimatization hikes
- Day 5, Feb 16: Access Aconcagua Provincial Park—hike to Confluencia (3400). Overnight at Confluencia
- Day 6, Feb 17: Trek to Plaza de Mulas Base Camp (4,300m)
- Day 7, Feb 18: Full rest day at Plaza de Mulas. Lectures and Observation of Clinics’ Operations
- Day 8, Feb 19: Symposium of Rescue and Medicine. Training workshops of Rescue and Medicine with Park volunteers and program students
- Day 9, Feb 20: Symposium of Rescue and Medicine
- Day 10, Feb 21: Canada Camp Portage (5,050m)
- Day 11, Feb 22: Canada Camp Overnight (5,050m)
- Day 12, Feb 23: Move to Camp 2 (Nido de Cóndores, 5,570m)
- Day 13, Feb 24: Rest at Camp 2. Nido de Condores(5,570m)
- Day 14, Feb 25: Move to Camp 3 (Colera Camp, 5,950m)
- Day 15, Feb 26. Summit day. Return to Colera
- Day 16. Feb 27. EXTRA DAY. Weather day
- Day 17. Feb 28. Return to Mulas
- Day 18. March 1st. Drive to Mendoza. Overnight in Mendoza
- Day 19 March 2nd, fly out

Aconcagua is a physical challenge! Altitude, dry climate, wind, and cold are a test of endurance and stamina. This will be a physically demanding expedition, but with proper training you can thrive on it. Check (and start) our training program to get ready for it!
